You Are Not Your Past: Tales of The Scorpio Full Moon
This weekend’s Scorpio Full Moon on 5/5/2012,or 5/5/5, has everyone jumping. Even astronomers are writing about the Super Moon shining in the universal skies. So what makes this moon so unique? Are there hidden messages within its precious illumination?
For those of you who believe that we are all connected, then understanding that the planetary bodies are simply spiritual messengers of the divine – acting under the power of the “Creator” to guide us in our spiritual development, will come as no surprise. And so with this posting, I have chosen to examine this powerful energy from three unique spiritual and astrological perspectives. As with all things universally inspired and divinely empowered, the overlap in the messages is no coincidence. And under the blessing of the divine 3 or trinity of energy, when we spot that kind of repetition, it behooves us to listen. And how remarkable that the word energy of this planetary positioning (77), asks that very question: “Are you listening?”

This “Scorpio Full Moon” reveals that great wisdom can be reached by digging into the well water of truth, and coming up renewed. How is that so? The vibrational word energy match to this full moon energizes Sabian symbol (77/14/5) “The head of a robust youth changes into that of a mature thinker.”
With the Moon and Scorpio tied so deeply to the watery depths of emotional cleansing, this Moon is urging us to let go of those things that no longer serve us. The (77) offers these word energy messages :
“We are what we think.” “Freeing yourself” from those childhood messages that hold us back is “essential to growth” or we shall become like “petrified wood,” unable to move on. So we are called to go “back down memory lane” and to “let go of the status quo” energy that holds you hostage.
The universe is once again supporting our spiritual growth with another opportunity for the “Awakening to ‘I am.” Why? Because “this is your year.”
Examining the deeper implications of the (77/14/5), we find the archetypal energies of Temperance (14) and the Hierophant (5). Temperance assists us in the process of refinement and moderation. The Hierophant reminds us that we must seek new ways to express ourselves. Joined together, they push us to refine and purify what we have been taught.
The Moon’s journey in Scorpio is simply “a vehicle for love” that is helping us to uncover past self deceptions and embrace our true nature in an unfiltered way. We are not our past. If our thoughts define us, then we will be deceived, for they are based in the past.
This is not an easy task, and we are urged to “cry if you need to.” Nurture yourself at this time and remember that only through “the power of love,” our first and best “spiritual teacher” can this journey of rediscovery bear fruit.
But wait, there is more! This new energy brings “career surprises” which is no surprise to this writer who is returning to school. My message is simple, “Get your doctorate.” Perhaps this is a message for others as well.

For those of you who are “spiritual teachers”, the need for assisting others is great. One particular spiritual program that can assist with detachment is “A Course in Miracles,” another (77) energy.
In essence, under this planetary energy, we are empowered to come to terms with the lies and deceptions of the past that keep us stuck in the loop of childhood, so that we may evolve ourselves as the mature adult that we strive to become. It is the birth of wisdom.
